Nursery Admissions for September 2024

General Information

Parents and carers need to apply directly to the setting of their choice in order to secure a nursery place for their child.

Nascot Wood Infant and Nursery School currently offers:

  • morning nursery places from 8.45-11.45am

  • afternoon places from 12.30-3.30pm; and

  • a number of 30-hour free childcare places from 8.45am-2.45pm Monday to Friday, for eligible children. There is also the option of extending the session every day to 3.30pm, at an additional charge.

In addition, we work in partnership with ‘Jack in the Box’, a private nursery situated on the school site, to deliver the 30 Hour free childcare offer. Parents should indicate on the application form if they are interested in sharing the 30 Hour free childcare offer with Jack in the Box.  A separate application will also need to be made directly to Jack in the Box. (Contact details can be found at www.jackinthebox.org.uk )

If your child was born between 01/09/2020 – 31/08/2021 you can apply for a place in our Nursery for the academic year 2024-2025 by completing our online application form.

The deadline for receipt of applications for the first round of admissions was 9am on 1 March 2024.  However, we are still taking applications for our second round of applications and if you wish to join our continuing interest list you may apply using the link below.

By completing this form you are agreeing for Nascot Wood Infant and Nursery School, if they are oversubscribed, to check whether your child’s details meet the school’s published admission rules and if he/she can be offered a nursery place.

Please click on the box below to complete the online application form:

Any personal data collected will be treated as confidential under the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation.  We will not use the data for any other purpose, nor will we share your data with any third parties other than the Department for Education (for statutory reporting) plus Hertfordshire County Council who may from time to time send you advice, guidance and information relating to changes to early years provision and educational services that are relevant and/or of benefit to your child.

Our Privacy Notice explains how and why we collect parent/carer/pupil data, what we do with it and what rights parents have.

For children who have been adopted from care or are subject to a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order, eligibility will be based on your declaration that your child was formally a looked after child along with the evidence of their status e.g. a copy of the relevant order. This form and a copy of the relevant order should be seen by the school, who will then contact Hertfordshire County Council in order to confirm the child’s status and enable a place to be offered under this criterion.

The current admission arrangements for Hertfordshire County Council Schools are available at Hertfordshire County Council

Reception

Hertfordshire County Council allocates places, separate to Nursery places. They invite parents to apply in the Autumn before the academic year in which the child turns 5. Most of these applications are made on-line at www.hertsdirect.org/admissions though a paper form can be requested by telephoning the County Admissions team on the telephone number below.

Year 1 / Year 2 ‘In Year’ Admissions

Children moving into the area who wish to join our school should be aware that we have continued interests lists for each year group which are administered by Hertfordshire County Council. Please see below for their contact details.

Continued Interest Lists

Nursery

The continued interest list for Nursery children who will be 4 this academic year is held in school.

Reception / Year 1 / Year 2

These continued interest lists are held by Hertfordshire County Council. If you wish to register your child or have any queries regarding these year groups please contact the County admissions team.

School Visits

Our Headteacher, Pam Scragg, takes small groups of parents on tours of the whole school from the time when admissions open for Reception right through until admissions close for Nursery applications.  These are very popular and numbers are restricted so that the disruption to the children is kept to a minimum. If you wish to book onto one of these tours please see the dates on the home page of our website.  Please be aware that these tours are very popular coming up to admissions deadlines so book early!
